Celebrating Our Student Nutrition Clerical Grads

In the Nutrition Department at UGA Dining Services, we depend on our student team members—including Student Nutrition Clericals and Dietetic Interns—to create educational content, manage inventory, update allergen and nutrition labels, maintain menus, and support the Dietitians across all operations.

This year, our UGA Dining Services Nutrition Clerical Students received the 2025 UGA Student Employee Team of the Year Award! Nominated by Dr. Katherine Ingerson, the team was selected by the UGA Career Center for going above and beyond in their service to others. Team members include dietetics students Elizabeth Baran and Abriana Byrd, Dietetic Technician Jessica Harris, MS student Anna Faye Dupree, and MS/DI student Alyssa Johnson. These dedicated individuals play a pivotal role in shaping the dining experience at UGA. We are proud to share their journeys and celebrate where they’re headed next!

“What I loved most working for UGA Dining Nutrition Services were the hands-on tasks that were great learning opportunities and a supportive work environment.”

– Abriana Byrd

Abriana Byrd earned her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics in May 2025 and was a vital part of the Nutrition Department during her time at UGA. She contributed to allergen management and nutrition education and supported sustainability-focused initiatives in the dining commons. Abriana will begin her Dietetic Internship with Morrison Healthcare this fall, where she is excited about the vast opportunities to network with other professionals and obtain experience in every area to solidify which pathway she wants to pursue as a Registered Dietitian. We wish her all the best in this next chapter!

“Interning as a Student Nutrition Clerical gave me hands-on experience in nutrition education and nutrition analysis, along with a behind-the-scenes look at collegiate dining—and a work family I’ll cherish forever.”
Jessica Harris
Jessica Harris began her role as a student nutrition clerical in Spring 2021. During her time, she designed table tents, posters, wrote blog content, participated in nutrition education tabling events, and helped update nutrition information. Through these hands-on experiences, she developed a strong interest in the behind-the-scenes operations of food service and collegiate dining.

After graduating in December 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and a minor in Culinary Science and Nutrition, Jessica transitioned into a fill time role as Dietetic Technician in January 2025. She works with the Registered Dietitians to support nutrition analysis, food labeling, and nutrition education initiatives.

We are excited that she joined our team and can not wait to see what she will do in the future.
