Join the Meal Plan
Choosing to join the meal plan at UGA, where the Big Dawg eats, gives you an unmatched dining experience full of creative culinary concepts, healthy options, diverse cuisine, nutrition services, special events, and more. You'll love dining with friends at the five dining commons or one of the many retail locations around campus. Students living on campus may choose from any of our four all-access plans. Off-campus students may choose from any of the block or all-access plans. Nationally recognized and completely voluntary, UGA Dining Services is committed to providing you with an exceptional dining experience and voluntary meal plan program during your time on campus. To become a meal plan participant, a UGA student will need to return a signed meal plan agreement either electronically via our website or by turning it into the One Stop Shop located in Tate Plaza. UGA Dining Services then transmits this information to the UGA Bursar’s Office and the meal plan charge is posted to the student’s account. The Bursar’s Office sends notification right away of the meal plan charge posting along with the payment due date (about a week before the academic term begins) to the student via an e-mail message. The meal plan agreement is a full academic year contract. However, the charge for each semester will be due on student accounts in August and December respectively. The charge for Spring Semester is posted to the student account in November.
Students may join the meal plan at any time. The payment due date will depend on the date the contract is received. However, the cost for the meal plan remains the full amount until one week after the first day of classes. The Bursar’s Office accepts cash, check, money orders, and MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards for payment on student accounts. Dining Services cannot accept payment for student accounts.
Participants use the IRIS Camera System for entry into the dining commons.
Certain meal plan options include Paw Points. Paw Points add on-campus dining flexibility by allowing purchases in our retail locations and Coca-Cola Vending machines on campus with just a swipe of your ID card. Different from Bulldog Bucks, all Paw Points purchases are tax free as they are a part of the meal plan and are designated for purchases at Dining Services' locations and Coca-Cola Vending machines only. Points are deducted with each purchase. Balances can be viewed through the student account management page. Unused points at the end of Fall semester will be added to Spring semester's balance. Don't worry about having to use them before the end of the academic year though, as your Paw Points will now remain active for one calendar year past your last use of Paw Points. Even if you have graduated or are no longer on the meal plan, your unused Paw Points are still available as long as your ID card is active during that time period.
Faculty and staff are invited to participate in any of our meal plan options. Faculty and staff who wish to purchase a meal plan need to call the Dining Services' Administrative office at 706.542.7130 or visit the office in the lower level of Snelling Dining Commons, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. Please know that faculty/staff meal plans are subject to tax and payment is due at the time of purchase.
