Sustainable UGA

The Office of Sustainability

Dining Services partners with the Office of Sustainability to fullfill UGA's strategic plans in sustainability. The two departments work together to reduce food and water waste through trayless dining. Food waste from the dining commons is composted and sent to campus partners for reuse in various projects such as landscaping.

Full Plate

For many years, UGA Dining Services has partnered with ACTION Inc.'s Full Plate program through food donations. UGA is able to donate prepared foods that have not been served. Full Plate distributes food to local charities that operate emergency shelters, food pantries, after-school programs and soup kitchens in the Athens area.

Action Incorporated
