Special Selections at Bolton Dining Commons

The Special Selections line at Bolton Dining Commons serves delicious cuisine free of the nine most common food allergens: egg, milk, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. This line is also gluten friendly. This line features a daily lunch and dinner entree, lunch and dinner side, a bean-of-the-day with brown rice, a steamed vegetable-of-the-day, and a salad-of-the-day.

Peanut & Tree Nut Allergies

Oglethorpe Dining Commons does not serve any tree nuts or peanuts in their facility, on their menu, or on any serving line. Instead, Oglethorpe offers Sunflower Nut Butter for sandwiches. Almond milk is not served in this dining facility; soy milk and cow milk are served daily.

Menu items in the dining commons are not screened for Coconut at this time.

Cross-Contact

It is our goal to provide you with information and assistance to manage your food allergies. Every effort is made to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies; however, there is always a risk of cross-contact. There is also a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice. Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk.

Students with food allergies and celiac disease are encouraged to meet with a UGA Dining Services Registered Dietitian for additional information and support. Food allergen and ingredient information is also available online through the Build Your Plate web feature and through the use of menu symbols.

Students with food allergies or nutritionally significant medical conditions can receive chef accommodations so that their meal is prepared separately in order to avoid cross-contact. Contact the Registered Dietitians to arrange chef accommodations, discuss nutrition concerns, receive nutrition advisement, or to schedule a food-allergy tour of the dining halls: dining-nutrition@uga.edu.
