Open a Bulldog Bucks Account

To start using Bulldog Bucks, you must have a valid UGA OneCard, which will serve as your access to paying through Bulldog Bucks. If you don’t have a UGA OneCard, you can purchase one at the Card Office in the Tate Center. Once you have an ID, you’ll need to activate your account online. Once you’ve activated your account, you can deposit money, set up online access, and use Bulldog Bucks on campus. As a UGA student or faculty/staff member, you will carry your UGA OneCard/Bulldog Bucks Card with you wherever you go. Activating your Bulldog Bucks account with a deposit gives you buying power at dining locations on-campus, the UGA Bookstore, vending machines, and print/copy services.


Activate Your Account Online

Activating your account online is completely free and takes only a couple of minutes. You will see our terms of service, complete your Bulldog Bucks agreement, and set your unattended spending limit. This is done one time and must be done before registering for an Account. 

You will need your MyID and password to log in as well as the 16-digit number beginning with 6 located on your UGA OneCard to complete this process. Please make sure you enter all 16 digits and, when typing your name, make sure it reads exactly as it does on the ID and that you do not inadvertantly hit the space bar after your first or last name as the system counts keystrokes. If you have problems activating your Account, call us at (706) 542-1256 or send an email with your problem to dining@uga.edu and we will be glad to assist you.

If you are a student, faculty or staff member and do NOT have a MyID, please visit myid.uga.edu. Your UGA MyID is your UGA email username and password. For example, if your email is godawgs@uga.edu, your MyID is "godawgs".

Once the agreement is complete, you can sign into your Bulldog Bucks Account to make online deposits* via credit/debit cards, see your transaction summaries, and access your account statements.

*In addition to online deposits, deposits can be made via check, cash, credit or debit card by contacting our Customer Relations Specialist at (706) 542-1256 or dining@uga.edu for further instructions.

Close a Bulldog Bucks Account

A Bulldog Bucks account can be closed online using the Account Closure Form. Upon account closure, cardholders can choose to receive a refund of their remaining balance or to donate remaining balances to UGA's Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship fund (learn more about these options below).

Accounts that remain inactive for one year will be automatically closed out and the cardholder will receive a refund for the remaining account balance.  

Receive a Refund: To receive a refund of your remaining Bulldog Bucks balance ($5 or greater), complete the Account Closure Form, select the option to receive a refund for remaining balances, and submit it to the Dining Administrative Office.

Donate to the Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship: To donate your remaining Bulldog Bucks balance to the Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship, complete the Account Closure Form, select the option to donate remaining balances, and submit it to the Dining Administrative Office. Please remember to check your account balance prior to closing your account to ensure accurate account information.

The Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship is a need-based scholarship that awards meal plans to a number of UGA students each fall and spring semester. Created by the Office of Student Affairs, this scholarship aims to combat food insecurity and eliminate hunger among the student body at the University of Georgia. Fees to Close an Account

You may close you account at any time.

Accounts closed between semesters or upon separation from the University (such as by graduation or withdrawal) will not be charged any closure fee.

An account management fee will be charged if the account remains inactive for one year (12 calendar months) or if the account is closed during the course of a semester. You will not be permitted to open a new Bulldog Bucks account until the following semester. In each of these cases, a fee of either $25 or the account balance, whichever is smaller, will be charged. 


Leaving UGA

When you leave UGA (usually by graduating or transferring for students or by ending employment for faculty/staff) your Bulldog Bucks account will remain active until one of the following things occur:

  1. You complete the Bulldog Bucks Account Closure Form.

  2. Your account remains inactive for one year.
